Introduction

Austria has transposed, insofar as necessary, and implemented the EU legislation imposing restrictions on chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), including the RoHS Directive (Directive 2002/95) and the REACH Regulation (Annex XVII) (Regulation 1907/2006).

Austria has not enacted any chemical restrictions going beyond the restrictions imposed by EU legislation.

In addition to the chemical restrictions discussed in this report, Austria also impose restrictions on certain chemicals in batteries (Directive 2006/66) and packaging (Directive 94/62, as amended).
