Introduction

In accordance with section 61 of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989, (the Act) as amended, the manufacture and import of pentabromodiphenyl ether (pentaBDE, CAS No. 32534-81-9) is prohibited by the Minister for Health and Ageing while it remains a Priority Existing Chemical (PEC).

Defined Restrictions:
PentaBDE (ban), OctaBDE (requires registration)
