Introduction

In August 2002, the Japanese Government published legislation which which entered into force in August 2003, prohibiting the use of certain phthalates in PVC products for young children.

Defined Restrictions:
Prohibition, contamination up to 0.1% allowed. DEHP products for children 0-6 years of age; DINP products for 0-3 years and those for mouth contact 3-6 years of age.
