Denmark will not extend ban on brominated flame retardants to textiles

Denmark - Restricted Substances Overview

The Danish parliament recently rejected a resolution that called for a ban on all brominated flame retardants. The resolution called for a broader scope of the ban on brominated flame retardants, not only for electronics as foreseen by the RoHS Directive. In addition, the Danish proposal included “all brominated flame retardants”, and not only polybrominated bifenyls (PBB) and polybrominated bifenylethers (PBDE), which have both been regulated in the EU.
