Germany implements EU Azo Dyes Directive

Germany implements Directive 2002/61/EC
On 9 January 2004, Germany published an amending Ordinance to the Commodity Goods Ordinance, implementing EU Directive 2002/61/EC on azo dyes into German national law. The legislation restricts azo dyes that may split into harmful amines (please see the List below) to 30 ppm in textile and leather articles which may come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin or mouth.
