European Union - Restricted Substances Overview

Question:

Do you happen to know whether nickel skin sensitivity can be caused by soluble nickel in leather contacting the skin, or is that only a problem with nickel in metal items contacting the skin? If soluble nickel from leather can cause allergic reactions, is it known at what levels the nickel allergy is triggered? In terms of the SG standard of 4.0 mg/kg for soluble nickel, would results around 15 mg/kg be likely to trigger a reaction?
